Augmented reality use in education
«

I'm working on a new technology called augmented reality which will allow people to see and interact with 3D molecules, orbitals, etc. in real time on their computer through a web cam. I've only just started working on it and have a Methane (CH4) molecule completed. Here is a YouTube video of the technology:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1ykv7X6-dg
. If you have a web cam you can try it out yourself at:

. Any suggestions, feedback, or comments are appreciated.
Thank You

That is really cool. Holding the paper up and rotating it, is a little cumbersome, but the concept is really impressive. How do you change the picture into the 3d model?

The 3D model is created manually in flash, the marker pattern is used to position, rotate, and scale the model.

I think it would be cool to see this developed further

I'm currently working on an Ethane model, I would like to be able to show each methyl group rotating along with electron densities to illustrate the change in energy. It's possible I did a very poor job explaining that, I know very little about chemistry. Here's a picture of the Ethane molecule model:
