air conditioning fluid

??? I have created an air conditioner like Geoff's homemade air conditioner on the internet.  I made this a self contained unit.  I took 5/16 copper tubing and made a spiral in front and back of the fan. Then I used vinyl tubing to bring water out of a fountain and back into a fountain.  I used a submersible pump to flow the liquid back and forth.  I am having trouble decreasing the temperature of the liquid running through the conditioner.  I was wandering if there was a safe way to decrease the temperature of the liquid or if there is a safe liquid that has a low temperature.  The liquid is held in a black plastic tub and is located outdoors.  I am currently using water as the liquid and ice to decrease the temperature of the liquid.  A 2 liter bottle of ice will melt in approximately one hour and the water temperature is only decreased slightly. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations.  Thank you.

joule-thomson expansion should do the trick
