Clarification using W equations
« on: March 05, 2010, 01:21:54 AM »
Hi!

U= q + w
isothermal, U=0 right?
so s q=-w

also main question i have here  is:

W= PdV
when do we use
w=nRln(v2/v1)
w=P(v2-v1)

\im taking physical chemistry for the past two months and I am still getting this confused :-\

W= PdV
Since this is Chemical Forums, I think you should check your sign conventions.
