I use both fuels in my restaurant for brunch chafing dishes. Can they safely be mixed together?

I see no reason why not.

Hi captain3388,

Yes, these two chemicals mix quite easily together.

Why do you want to mix these two together?  What benefit are you trying to have?

Sincerely,

Eugene

In an attempt to save money, I have purchased chafing dish containers from my local vendor. They cost about three dollars a piece. They come filled with diethylene glycol but also have removable tops. I wanted to refill them with methanol and I was afraid of a chemical reaction. I want to use methanol for two reasons; First, the BTU is much higher. Secondly I only need 6 instead of 12 every Sunday. With this economy I have to find new ways to conserve my expenses. Thank you very much for your response, I really appreciate it.
