I am studying on the effect of uniaxial drawing on the properties of Poly(butylene succinate).
It is obviously observed that the elongation and break and strength increased after uniaxial drawing.
Before drawing, the PBS failed in brittle manner.
After rolling, the sample yielded and 'necking' can be observed at the drawing direction. Ductility is increased after drawing.
At the drawing direction, polymer chains became highly aligned or orientated.
I am not sure how these molecular orientation will affect the ductility of the plastic.
Is there any opinion from all if you?
I really need your comments and help in discussing this matter. Thank you.
