Q:Create the following structure starting with a keytone.
Solution:
Would the following synthesis work by conversion of the keytone to an enolate? The lithium diisopropylamide obviously removes a hydrogen from the less substituted side.

what are you talking about step 4 is a simple sn2 the less substituated hydrogen....

You're using chloroethane when you only want to introduce a methyl group. Should be chloromethane.
