What are the units for Silica gel pore diameter?
« on: March 25, 2010, 01:59:02 PM »
I'm interested in silica gel used for column chromatography. When I see the specifications of different forms of the stuff, I keep finding people referring to the 'pore diameter' of the beads, in units of 'A'.

e.g. Pore diameter: 60A

What is this 'A'?

Are you sure it's not Å (though I guess it could be A, given ASCII limitations).

That looks about right, I think it is the Angstrom. Thanks.
