pH of solution remiaining after reaction
« on: April 03, 2010, 03:50:02 AM »
When 50 ml of a .020M solution of Ba(OH) is added to 50mL of a 0.060 M Solution of HNO3 and reactiong allowed to proceed to completion at 25 degrees Celsius, the pH of solution remaining after reaction will be

A 1.7
B 2.0
C 7.0
D 13

I got my reaction
2HNO3(aq) + Ba(OH)2(aq) > Ba(NO3)2 (aq) + 2H2O(l)

Then i found the mol of both
HNO3 = 0.003 mol
Ba(OH)2 = 0.001 mol

then argh... what do i do!?!
thanks

How much H+ do you have in your solution after the reaction?

What concentration does this equal?
