Hi there, I need both the reduction and oxidation equations for the following reactions:
1. MnSO
4(aq) + Br
2(aq) + NaOH(diluted) + CuSO
4(aq). I know that Mn gets oxidised to MnO
2 and CuSO
4 acts as a catalyst, so I guess it doesn't change.
2. MnSO
4 + Na
2CO
3 + NaNO
3 + dT(heated)
I know it is: Mn
2+ + 2NO
3- + 2CO
3- <---> MnO
42- + 2NO
2- + 2CO
2 but I have problems of making the reduction and oxidation equation.
3. H
2SO
3 + Lugol's Iodine (I
5- or I
2KI?). I know that sulfate is formed. I'm kinda stuck here, because of: I
2KI
K
+I
3-4. Na
2SO
3(aq) + S + dT. I know that S
2O
32- is formed.
