When you are naming ethers in the IUPAC system, where does the alphabetical count?
For example in methoxyethane.
Does the alphabetical count from the 'm' in the meth, or the 'o' in the oxy?

methoxy is one single group.
It's the same as asking : does the order count from 'm' or 't' in methyl?
