Optimization of Gas plant
« on: March 25, 2010, 02:40:10 AM »
Gents,

I have been asked to do an optimization in our gas plant for the following units:
-Amine treating unit
-Gas dehydration unit

The process optimization will include the power conservation plus steam consumption and performance test,  Can you please provide me with some points i should foucs on it !

Many Thanks

Hello Armani_AD,

I have been consulting in this area for years. Because of the diversity of each plant, the recommendation I can make is to completely understand the process, and then optimize each part of the process one-piece-at-a-time.

Best wishes,

Eugene

Eugene Dakin's reply was good advice. I don't know how experienced you are as a chemical engineer. On the assumption that you are relatively inexperienced, I would suggest that you read these articles in the Citizendium online encyclopedia:

     Natural gas processing
     Amine gas treating
     Glycol dehydration
