molarity question
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:06:53 AM »
i need help in this question i don't seem to be able to ge the right answer

the question is   2 moles of HCl neutralize 50 cm3 of NaOH solution .What is the molarity of the NaOH solution?

i worked out :
HCl + NaOH produces NaCl + H2O
then made assumption that one mol HCl reacts completely with 1 mol of NaOH
and therefore the number of mol of NaOH = 2 moles

then applied the formula
MV/1000
50M/1000=2
then i got stuck looking at the value

then applied the formula
MV/1000

Please elaborate what is what. This is not a formula, this is just an expression.
