Salt bridge
« on: May 19, 2010, 11:41:49 AM »
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering whether in a galvanic cell electrons actually flow through the salt bridge, or whether the movement of ions in the salt bridge simply allows electrons to keep flowing between half cells via electric wires. Also, does the anode refer to the entire half cell or just the electrode?
Thank you

Just electrode (unless you see "anode half cell" or something similar), no free electrons in solution - only ions.
