How to purchase a intermediate?
« on: March 31, 2010, 10:18:48 PM »
Hi, I m new in our lab, and we need some intermediates. I wonder how to purchase, from google or search from other website? Could you give me some suggestion?

Thanks very much!

A lot of intermediates are not stable in their isolated form for long periods of time. I've almost always generated intermediates in situ. But if you know it's out there, I would advise using Sigma Aldrich. Their prices are sometimes a little bit hefty so I'd do a little bit of cost analysis to see if it's worth buying it or just making it.

Generally form scifinder you can get the commercial availability of intermediates with the vendor's name and address.
Or you can simply follow the above said solutions.

We use the following suppliers (we are UK based)

Apollo Scientific
Fluorochem
Alfa Aesar
Fisher Scientific
Sigma-Aldrich
Carbosynth
Dextra Labs

Apollo and Fluorochem can be substantially cheaper than the bigger suppliers, well worth checking out. Alfa, Fisher and Sigma are all about the same. Carbosynth and Dextra are for carbohydrate derivatives.
My research: Google Scholar and Researchgate
