SPE for MCPDesters separation from oil
« on: June 23, 2010, 09:57:59 AM »
hello everyone  :D..

This forum is my latest and only hope now, I wish I can find answer to my problem:
I am trying to separate 3-MonoChloro-PropanDiol palmitoyl esters from oil with SPE using Silica cartridges, but those compound are very similar to TAGs (triacylglycerol; major component of in oil composition) and they are eluting the same in the same fraction.
Is anyone deal with similar compound or have any idea about what i am saying?

please i desperately need help.

Hello imen,

Yes, you can seperate some of these esters with various silica cartriges. The efficiency of removal depends on the contact time, pressure, temperature, etc. Are you trying to adsorb or absorb these particles? Yes, you will also remove other polar compounds along with the esters (such as various glycerols). Are you trying to purify the oil, or extract the ester for resale?

Best wishes,

Eugene
