dichloromethane adduct

My compound contain piperazine & i performed reaction work up in dichloromethane ,i got some unknown peaks/spots in HPLC/TLC is there any possibility of piperazine reacts with dichloromethane to form quartenary product?

Yes,this is true!!
I too faced the same problem when i started reaction with 3° amine in DCM(dichloromethane).
It seems to be that dichloromethane is forming adduct with amine.
In the presence of base (i used triethyl amine)this adduct was increased.I confirmed this adduct by mass(m/z).
We are under progress of characterisation of this adduct.
