Phase diagrams of Titanium-Chlorine compounds and mixtures
« on: June 29, 2010, 06:58:22 PM »
I am looking for a reference that has the Pressure-Temperature phase diagrams of Titanium Tetrachloride, Titanium Trichloride and Titanium Dichloride as well as the 3D phase diagram (i.e. mixture ratio vs pressure and temperature) of Titanium and Chlorine. If I can't find a 3D phase diagram, I would be interested in a series of 2D phase diagrams for titanium-chlorine (i.e. mixture ratio vs temperature) at different pressures.

Note that I am a Mechanical Engineer and not a Chemical Engineer, so if I have not stated what I am looking for correctly please let me know.

Still no luck finding these. I can't find them anywhere in the web, I have emailed suppliers and manufacturers of Titanium(IV) Chloride, the Chlorine Chemistry Division and even a few professors at my old University and a few other Universities with no luck.

I find it hard to believe that the information is so hard to find. Titanium(IV) Chloride is a widely used chemical in both research and industry, so its equilibrium phase diagram should be readily available. Titanium(III) Chloride and Titanium(II) Chloride are not as widely used, but there should at least be a calculated diagram for both of them even if an experimental one isn't available.
