paramagnetic vs diamagnetic
« on: August 11, 2010, 02:43:53 AM »
My understanding is that paramagnetic are elements w/out paired valanced electrons and if some of the same kind get together they create a magnetic field. This is actually how magnets work? Diamagnetic elements are actually paired valence electrons and thus not creating a magnetic field? Have I understood that correctly? Thank you.
