Tomorrow evening I am making a trip up to Jaffrey(sp?) New Hampshire to a cabin that a friend of mine has which is right by a lake.  I am also bringing along my golf clubs and some sodium metal and iodine crystals.    I plan on taking chunks of sodium and wrapping them in a bunch of Aluminum foil to make a little ball that I can tee up.  I will then be using my 7-iron to fling the little ball of sodium metal into the middle of the lake where once the water seeps in a giant yellow fireball will form.    I'll also be making some sodium iodide to use in the synthesis of NI3 and I hope to take pictures of ALL of this going on.  Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to upload them for all to see.
