Distillation of chloracetaldehyde
« on: October 29, 2010, 09:56:02 AM »
Hello!

I was wondering if anybody had worked with chloroacetaldehyde under anhydrous condition. Chloroacetaldehyde comes in a 45% percent solution in water and I need to distill it for my reaction to work. Any help is appreciated!

Try an azeotropic distillation with toluene or benzene in a dean - stark apparatus.
