Hello All,
I'm not sure where to start this problem. Any know of any sample problems like this I could take a peek at or have any hints?
A solute with a retention time of 15.2 min has a baseline peak width of 32 s on a GC column that is 14.6 m long. An unretained solute elutes in 1.8 min. A second solute has a retention time of 16.7 min and a baseline peak width of 35 s. Find the number of plates and the plate height for the first solute, calculate the relative retention (selectivity factor) for the two solutes, and determine the resolution of the two solutes. Is this value adequate for quantitation of the two solutes?
