Hi!
A first-year student had two carbon electrodes, a KNO3 saltbridge, one solution of ZnCl2, and another solution of CuSO4 on the other side. According to the student, there was a "precipitate" in the beaker with the CuSO4 solution.
Nevermind that the first-year doesn't have the faintest clue what he's doing. Let's hope his observation was correct. But what should happen given this scenario, and why?
