Prepare 10% w/w Caustic with given volume
« on: December 10, 2010, 12:10:08 AM »
Dear all friends, need your help here.

If we have a tank of 2.45m3, and we want to prepare full tank of 10% w/w caustic solution using lets say pure caustic pallet.

How much caustic is to be added? Can show calculation?
If we first add 2.45m3 water, then add pallet, will the volume increase?

Thanks a million.

Yes the volume will increase. You need density of 10% solution to calculate mass of the solution, then use this information to calculate mass of NaOH.
