I forgot to mention, if you look up kinetic isotope effects, you might be able to apply the information gathered from that to the acidity/D +I problem. There is a heck of a lot on D vs I out there.

Whoops, all this was said in the paper posted above. Go back to approximations to the Schrodinger equation and see the what effects the effective nuclear charge has.
