Percentage Error
« on: January 11, 2011, 10:10:55 PM »
Hi Everyone! This is my first post on here, nice to find this place. :)
I was really stuck on a homework problem from an online course.... here are some screen shots of the problem.

1.The first one I attempted two times and received an incorrect error.
2. The second attempt I just put everything that my calculator gave me which ended up being correct.
3. The third part is what the online software gave me as the solution to the problem.

Why wasn't I getting the first attempt "correct"? And how do you know what to round to for percentage?

Just looking at what you have done there, the third column, "Group 3", the difference between the true value and average value should to be positive.  Secondly, it would round up to be 1.77 not 1.76 since the number is actually 1.7699
