caffeine absorbtion and pH dependence

Does anyone know how pH affects the solubility of caffeine in the body (ie how fast it is absorbed in the small intestine).

Assuming that Coke (pH ~3) and coffee have the same concentration of caffeine (pH 5) - (I know they dont, but just follow me) - which beverage will be absorbed quicker into the bloodstream?

Im assuming the lower pH protonates the caffeine and ???

It could be just a trick question:

The Coke and Coffee will end up in your stomach where they will combine with your stomach's acid secretions which will take them both to a uniform Ph before passing down the digestive system where the caffeine absorption will occur.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Thanks JGK,  I didnt think about that.

Im also assuming that caffeine is absorbed - at least slightly - by your mouth and esophagus as it travels down.

I think I read somewhere that tea may be absorbed quicker - though dont quote me. Again, both have the same concentration (which they dont).

Just a curiosity I had, not an exam question.
