Clogged solvent intake filter
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:59:44 AM »
Good morning. Today I noticed erratic pressure in my HPLC pump. I replaced the solvent intake filter and the problem was solved. I wonder if there is a way to clean the filter properly and use it again.

Prolonged soncation in a solvent in an ultrasonic bath may help (short term) but to be honest, the amount of time and effort you spend makes replacement the cost effective option.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Thank you so much! It works. I used nitric acid solution and ultrasonic bath and it helped! Well replacement is indeed the cost effective option in such cases but since I' m new in research the "learning" process is even better!
