what's the difference between these 2 names?

I cam across this name while studying for an exam:

1,6-dicyclobutyl-7-cyclopropyl-2,4-diisobutylcyclooctane

when I drew the compound, I wondered why I shouldn't name it as follows:-

1,4-cyclobutyl-2-cyclopropyl-5,7-diisobutylcyclooctane

can someone explain which one is correct?

I'm no expert but i think you are right about numbering ...
it gives a smaller total

Isobutyl groups are larger than cyclopropyls so they take priority.  You number the system to keep the larger substituents with the lowest numbers.

so b/w
"lowest sum rule" and "larger groups with smaller number"
the latter has higher priority?
