NMR of Isomers
« on: April 07, 2011, 09:23:32 AM »
Hello. I have hydrogenated aminonicotinic acid to its non aromatic product. Will I see both isomers in NMR or only the one. I think that isomers should be possible to see, but conversion between boat and chair is too rapid to be seen? Carbon NMR only gives 6 tops or so.

Also I dont understand why the reference draws my compound with the double bond? I have attached it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about your isomers, but in my case, i saw the same peak repeated all over again in one spectrum (meaning that if you have peak in aromatic region, you will see the same peak repeated twice next to each other) and i know that they were isomers.
