technique for quantitative filtration
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:07:03 PM »
I need to complete an assay on the pharmaceutical excipient. The specification is really tight and therefore, any loss of smaple in the process renders the substance to fail the test.

The test requires filtering of a sample solution and then proceed testing on the filtered solution. I am thinking sample is lost during this filtration process. They might be simply sticking to the filter paper.

Does anybody have any idea what is the best way to complete this task. What type of filtration and what type of filter paper to use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Simple things first. Washing the filtrate with the solvent used?
