Terminology HELP

When synthesizing an Acid Chloride from a Carboxylic acid my professor uses CH2Cl2 with RT ....Can anyone explain to me what RT is or stands for. im guessing its some sort of short hand for some chemical ? Thanks!

RT= room temperature

You can also use SOCl2 to form an acyl chloride.

CH2Cl2 was the solvent. There has to be another reagent present (SOCl2, oxalyl chloride, etc...) as dichloromethane will not convert a carboxyl group to an acyl chloride.
