How does drinking NaNO3 and Cu2SO4 result in death?
« on: April 19, 2011, 10:10:30 PM »
My equation is:
2CuNO3 (aq) + Na2SO4 (aq) === 2NaNO3 (aq) + Cu2SO4 (aq)

If a person drinks this solution they die.
Why is that?

There is no reaction. One of the ions present is known for its toxicity.

Rule of thumb when handling chemicals. All chemicals are poisonous.
