I don't understand how electrolyte works >.<

For example, how does it work when it is used in simple chemical cells?

and why it can speed up the rusting of iron? I can't really imagine a way

to convince myself the reasons >.< None of the books goes into details about this.

They assume all people could understand what have already understood

Presence of electrolyte lowers resistance of the solution and speeds up charge transfer.
