How to determine a copper oxide

Hello! I'm new here :)

At school we have to do a prac about determining a copper oxide - CuO or Cu2O

We weigh the copper oxide in the beginning

Then we have to put the copper oxide in H2SO4 and let it react, then put Zinc in it. We then leave it for a day until the copper is isolated.

We take the copper out and weigh it.

My question is from the info I have now. How do I determine which copper oxide I have?

Ok, start here :
1. Let us say you took 'x' moles of CuO. How many moles of Cu will you obtain in the end?
2. What if you had taken 'y' moles of Cu2O? How many moles of Cu would you have obtained?

Well why don't you tell us how far you get in your logic and where you're stuck.
