Protein Characterization
« on: June 18, 2011, 03:49:59 AM »
Hi Everyone

I am doing a Protein Characterization  .It is for a Mineral Proteinate .

The Basic step is We hydrolyze a protein source and add some minerals resulting in a Mineral Proteinate .

I have been asked to quantify how much protein is bound to the Mineral , I also require a structure analysis to confirm the amount of Protein bound to the Metal .

Is there any method  to do it .

Basically what I have thought of it is

1 . Protein Estimation of both raw protein source and finished product .
2.  Analyse free peptides in raw material by N or C terminal analysis .
3.  Try to trace some specific amino acids in both raw material and finished product .

This is the initial part  .

Any inputs on the subject would help me .

With Regards
Ganesh
