« on: July 16, 2011, 09:08:26 AM »
When adding the sodium polysulfide into weak alkaline solution containing bicarbonate, the solution seems to be out of sulphur. How could this happen and how to solve this situation?

You mean yellow sulfur is crasing out?
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

Probably its not possible, because bicacorbonate HCO3- is acidic enough to release the Sx2- Anion. I think you have to increase pH with NaOH or something.
