Hi,
I need help with the integration reversible reactions.
I know that for a reversible reaction where A <-> C (forward reaction has a rate constant of k1 and the reverse reaction has a rate constant of k-1), the reaction rates are:
d[A]/dt = -k1[A] + k-1[C]
and
d[C]/dt = k1[A] - k-1[C]
If the initial condition is that [A]o = [A] + [C]
Then,
d[A]/dt = -k1[A] + k-1([A]o-[A])
I don't get how the integration of this equation will give me:
[A] = [Ao] (k-1 + k1e-(k1-k-1)t)/(k1 + k-1)
Any help will be appreciated.
