Chemistry Project (Grade 12)
« on: July 19, 2011, 07:42:42 AM »
Hi!
I am in the final year and required to make a project on any topic of my interest.
I have chosen The Cation and Anion Analysis Of Toothpaste. The Cations and Anions that I am familiar to me are:

Fluoride

Magnesium

Carbonate

Calcium

Phosphorus

Hydroxyl Ions

Plz suggest me some more ions for which i can ACTUALLY perform the tests in laboratory. Also plz suggest the appropriate test only for fluoride ions.

Thanks in advance!!

Flouride is not easy to determine with simple methods. I would suggest to use an ion senstive flouride probe, but not sure it is available for you. Instead of the phosphorus its better to look for phosphate.
