conductivity measurements for mechanism elucidation

I am trying to determine if my reaction goes through an ionic or covalent adduct intermediate (charged also).  As a result, conductivity is one of the way to go for this.  Looking at some precedence for a very similar type of reaction, they list several compounds and say that the compound giving a conductivity of 54 mS suggests the reaction is going through an ionic pathway, but some of the other compounds that gave only 15-20 mS they say is just a covalent adduct (I'm assuming the slight increase in conductivity is due to the potential HCl hydrolysis side product or the fact that the covalent adduct is also charged).  I want to know if you guys can tell me how to approach determining the upper and lower limits of conductivity for ionic compounds.  i.e. lets say my result is 25, 30, or 40 mS, would that be ionic or covalent?  Is there some literature on this?
