Percent Composition of Table Salt
« on: September 18, 2011, 12:57:43 AM »
MgCl_2 often occurs in table salt NaCl. A 0.5200 g sample of table salt is found to contain 61.10% of Cl, by mass. What is the % of MgCl_2 in the sample. Why is the precision of this calculation so poor?

Hey guys and girls, I'm wondering how to approach this problem. Help?

Almost identical to the other question you posted. Try two unknowns and two equations approach.
