Polyurethane acrylate nanocomposites
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:57:00 AM »
Dear All
I am trying to produce polyurethane acrylate based on vegt oil/clay nanocomposites using prepolymer and acrylate monomer solutions (tried many of them: HDDA, TMPTA, TPGDA, DPGDA) in different percentages such as 5, 10, 15, 20 %, my problem is: after curing by UV (in 2 forms, one is coated films in glass substrates with thickness 20-80 um) and casted film in mold (around 1 mm of thickness, for mechanical tests, tensile and DMA)  my films are very tough with low flexibility, and they break (like glass) when I try to cut them to do test. I need to establish good base system before incorporation of the filler, I try to reduced the amount of the acrylate monomer in order to reduce the crosslinking but still have same problem, I hope if any one has idea or experience can help me, thanks
