Cross-linked polymer solubility

If one managed to cross-link two polymers in a solvent that both polymers dissolve in, will the new cross-linked polymer stay dissolved or precipitate out?

Crosslinked polymers tend to be very insoluble. However, they can be swelled with solvent to make a gel-like substance.
