Yesterday I was working with oxalyl chloride in lab without fume hood and aluminium trichloride was nearby but accidentally my partner spilled that aluminium trichloride in oxalyl chloride.
now we are scared whether this aluminium trichloride have decomposed this oxalyl chloride to phosgene?
*we havent smelt any strange odour.
*Our room was 100 cubic meter.
*We were there upto 2 minutes from spillage and left immediately to avoid inhalation.
My main question is how spontaneoud reaction is between oxalyl chloride and aluminium chloride to form phosgene
