Idle curiosity: what interesting *aprotic* polar solvents are there? Interesting could mean being able to usefully dissolve a large number os salts, or some salts that are insoluble in water, or some substances that are decomposed by protic solvents such as water and ethanol, etc.

The most useful I've found are N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, and N-methylpyrollidone
