Hi there,
next week i got some experiments
these what i got to do:
dissolve CoCl
2 in 3 ml H
2O and put 3 ml Ethylacetat on
C
4H
8O
2 in the test tub and shake it. Then put Ammoniathiocyanat NH
4SCN on it and shake it again.Then we should recognize two phase in this solution and put so much Ammoniathiocyanat in it till the upper phase also gets blue.
Well I guess that the organic phase got a higher solubility product as the Aqua-complex. But my question is also what does the Ethylacetat do in this solution.
Then we should also describe which complexes are found in the solution
First there is
Co
2+ + 5 H
2O + 2 Cl
- Co(H
2O)
52+ + 2 Cl
-I´m not sure what happens when I put Ethylacetat in the solution
but I guess Ethen is also produced
Co
2++2SCN
− Co(SCN)
2when more acidic this is generated?
Co
2++4SCN
− [Co(SCN)
4]
2−Help would be really appreciated. I´m new to this theme and they are hammering us with this stuff eventhough we are in the first semester but we have to know it.
Thank you
