Polymer force of attraction relationship
« on: January 21, 2012, 02:52:26 PM »
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction with this please. I have been given an equation in my notes of the following:

F proportional to nC1C2 / r^2

n = polymer molecular wt,
C1 & C2 are charges on monomer atoms, such as electronegativity etc.
r is the interchain separation.

f i think is force (i really should know that but I do not).

It's all in relation to structure (crystallinity to coil) to properties

If anybody recognises the relationship, I would really appreciate getting a name for it to learn it as I cannot find anything on google with what I am googling.

Thank you all in advance.
