Al&Si mixture
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:52:32 AM »
First, I want to thank everyone who helped me, because I passed the exam. Now I have another problem I can't solve: 10g of Al and Si mixture is dissolved in HCl and 4dm3 of gas is produced(273K,101,3kPa). Calculate the mass share of Al in the mixture.(32,1%)
Are my equations good?
Si+4HCl-->SiCl4+2H2
Al+3HCl-->AlCl3+3/2H2

I don't think that Si reacts with HCl very much like the element above Si.
