I took a quiz and just got it back today. It was on organic compound naming with an emphasis on functional groups.

The last question took me by surprise.

A. Heptene reacts with Iodine Gas, show the structural formula of the product (what is the product?)
B. Name the Type of Reaction
C. Name all the reactants, and the final product
D.Briefly explain how the reaction takes place

My explanation was wrong, I said the iodine molecules unsaturated the heptene, and I think this caused all my other answers to be wrong.
