hey i'm a first year pharmacy student and theres this question that i can't do...you don't really need any pharmacy knowledge to do the question:
A diabetic patient is to have a surgery in a hospital. To ensure the patient's blood glucose concentraiton remains at 5-10mmol/L, an intravenous insulin infusion at 1 iu per hour is required. You have a 5 ml vial of insulin which contains 100iu per ml and a 50 ml bag of dextrose 5%.
How many ml of inuslin solution from the vial should you add to the 50ml bag of dextrose?
How many ml per hour of your solution shoul the patient receive?
(i know this isn't really a science question, more like maths but please help me if u have any ideas, thanx)
