Cycloalkane isomer
« on: November 09, 2005, 02:16:11 PM »
Hello All,

The question in my chemistry homework is:

"Draw an isomer with the formula C8H16 which is a cycloalkane. Give its name."

AHHHHHH!! ???

We haven't done this in class and I have no idea what to do. Could you set me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Hoz

Do you mean CYCLOOCTANE?

I don't know I guess so!! Haven't done this in class and it's on our homework!!

I'll draw that octagon with the carbon atoms at the vertices and then draw 2 covalently bonded hydrogen to each one. I will it give it the name cyclooctane.
How does that sound?
